Who we are

Evelyn Murphy set up Learn How Training in 2018, which offers a unique approach to Health & Safety training.

Her services include First aid training, CFR Community, Basic emergency first aid within the home or workplace, paediatric first aid (suited for those working with Tusla or in childcare),  manual handling, people manual handling & moving, fire safety training and  VDU/DSE Assessments for your staff.

Evelyn has worked in various industry sectors and has gained considerable knowledge and experience, which she now brings to her training business. Evelyn is a graduate of Maynooth University. She has also worked as a sports therapist since 2010.

Evelyn is a qualified Pre-Hospital Emergency Care Council (Phecc) Instructor for First Aid Responder (FAR) and Cardiac First Responder (CFR) Community. She works closely with Phecc recognised Training Institutions to ensure the highest standards in her first aid training.  In addition, she holds her QQI Train the trainer, and manual handling & people manual handling and moving certificates. She is also qualified to give VDU/DSE assessments to your staff and basic Fire safety training. She also offers refresher training in all of these areas.

Evelyn works closely with her clients to ensure compliance in their legal obligations relating to Health & safety Training in the workplace. She is committed to offering a high level of customer service and works hard to ensure customer expectations are met at all times.

Awards & Funding

Social Welfare Clients TSG Funding Scheme & Learn How Training

We work closely with the DSP to ensure that access to our training is made simple.

We welcome those wishing to return to the workforce after a long-term absence, those of you wishing to upskill or simply seeking new employment.

Our training courses are available to DSP clients under the TSG scheme. Numbers subject to availability.


What is a TSG / Technical Support Grant?

This scheme is designed to fund quick access to short-term training or related interventions, obtain/renew certification/permits for individual jobseekers that have identified work opportunities In addition where Case Officers have identified an immediate skills gap that represents an obstacle to taking up a job offer or accessing other activation interventions this scheme is designed to assist.

We advise DSP clients to contact your case officer and arrange an appointment before proceeding with an application.

They will speak with you first before the application is put forward for funding approval.

VEC is now known as ETB

The former VEC Vocational Education Committee system of education has now changed. The new system is directed by ETB Education and Training Board.

ETBs are statutory authorities which have responsibility for education and training, youth work and a range of other statutory functions. ETBs manage and operate second-level schools, further education colleges, multi-faith community national schools and a range of adult and further education centres delivering education and training programmes.

Pre-Hospital Emergency Care Council

Evelyn Murphy your First Aid Response & CPR Instructor is Pre-Hospital Emergency Care Council Qualified. She undertakes frequent CPD training to maintain her certification. The Pre-Hospital Emergency Care Council protects the public by independently specifying, reviewing, maintaining and monitoring standards of excellence for the safe provision of quality pre-hospital emergency care.

Fetac awards changed to new QQI Standard

Evelyn Murphy your Instructor in Manual Handling and People Moving & People Handling is QQI qualified. Previously, FETAC were the awarding body which is no longer the case. QQI (Quality and Qualifications Ireland) is an independent State agency responsible for promoting quality and accountability in education and training services in Ireland. It was established in 2012.
