About the course

This half day People Moving Course is suited to all levels of employees who may undertake people moving operations. This can include the transporting of persons by lifting, setting down, pushing, pulling, or moving.

It is particularly useful for those working in the healthcare industry such as healthcare assistants, carers, and anyone involved in People moving tasks on a daily basis. We can provide Manual Handling & People moving as full day course if requested.

Instruction Method

Theory & Practical demonstrations by your instructor.

Learner practice and continuous assessment.

Qualification

On successful completion of the course learners will be awarded a Learn How Training People Moving certificate of attendance.

Valid for 3 years.

Legislation: Manual Handling

Under the Manual Handling Regulations, you are legally obliged to ensure all employees are trained and competent in manual handling.
Staff should avoid manual handling and, if they can’t, you must take steps to reduce the risk of injury.

Know the correct technique for moving a person in bed with a sliding sheet.

Identify and assess mechanical aids that should be used when moving a person (TILE) & perform a lift using a hoist.

Sit a patient to the edge of a bed, stand a person and know how to manage safely.

Transfer a person from bed to chair.

Manage a falling patient
